About SpinWheelGe

SpinWheelGe is a free collection of spinning wheels and random tools for the small decisions that fill everyday life — who answers the next question, where to eat, which prize a visitor wins, and who's on which team.

What we believe

  • Fair means provably fair. Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, and the wheel decides the winner before it starts spinning. The animation shows the result; it never determines it.
  • Your lists are yours. Wheels, settings and history are stored in your own browser. We don't run accounts or a database of your entries.
  • Free should still be good. The core tools are free for everyone. Ads help pay for hosting, and we keep them away from the wheel and its controls.
  • Accessible to everyone. Keyboard controls, screen-reader announcements, reduced-motion support and a dark mode are built in.

How the randomness works

When you spin, we ask the Web Crypto API for random bits and convert them to a choice using rejection sampling, which avoids the small bias that simple "random number modulo list length" code introduces. In weighted mode, each entry receives a number of tickets proportional to its weight and one ticket is drawn. Then we calculate exactly how far the wheel must turn to stop with the winning slice under the pointer.

Who uses SpinWheelGe

Teachers in the US and Canada use it for cold calling and classroom jobs, creators use it for live giveaways, event teams run prize wheels at booths, and families use it to settle the nightly "what's for dinner?" debate. If you have an idea for a template or tool, we'd love to hear it on our contact page.
