About this template

This wheel is set up for cold calling: Elimination mode is on, so each student is removed after their turn and nobody gets picked twice before everyone has had a go. Replace the sample names with your roster — paste a column straight from your gradebook spreadsheet.

Tips for using this wheel

  • Make one wheel per class period; you can keep up to eight on the page.
  • Use Restore all at the start of each lesson to bring every name back.
  • Give students a few seconds of think time before you spin to lower anxiety.

Frequently asked questions

Will the same student be picked twice?

Not while Elimination mode is on. Each picked name is greyed out until you press Restore all.

Can students see who's left?

Yes, the remaining names stay on the wheel, which helps students know their turn is coming.
